In my experience, it seem uploading RAW file have higher chance to get error, due to the larger file size (even I am using a reliable 500Mbps Fiber-Optic network). Their web site does not perform any check error on the uploaded image, therefore the image you uploaded can be uncompleted or damaged, but you never know. There are many thing can go wrong when uploading image to their web server. They may use the same algorithm, however I have tried multiple times that their web site report error while I have no problem reading the shutter count using PIE or ExifToolGUI with the same image file. They've all been shown to be reliable with a whole bunch of A-mount bodies. The online tool and PIE and ExifTool all use the same algorithm, so there should never be disagreement. So can't see that they would be considered unreliable. Perhaps meta data from the a77 is different but I just checked the two different applications on the last 4 images from my a77II, and I don't see that problem. I find both of these applications results in agreement. I turned off and the number when up in increments of 4 per pic. that was with the electronic front curtain on. I find it not reliable, I did bought my camera brand new, and when I took the first pic it indicated 2. I sold to my cousin my original A77 that according to that APP had 90K that was a year ago, I so far he has not told me that the camera broke down. (yes it goes back to 0001 after 9,999 but you can count the times that has made the cycle so I'm on my third one. Right now I have my A77ii on 33K and I know that because, I keep manual count on them by file number. Shutter actuations made up to file DSC00094.JPG: 140395 I suppose another question is how reliable is /index.php, as I can find wear or shining on this camera in the usual places such as buttons, tripod mount etc? I was delighted with the deal I got and the camera's performance. Body in great condition, only concern was slight delamination to the screen. The camera is in excellent working order. ![]() I just bought a used A77 with a year's warranty. On the other hand, A77II shutter rise extremely fast, especially shooting at 12fps, my A77II shutter have over 150K multiple times already. I have confidence it can reach 1m shutter without problem. The buffer of A77 is pretty small, it usually fill up quickly and hard to get high shutter counts. The life time of the shutter count can vary significantly, some user may try hard to find a low shutter count camera, but end up the shutter die in less than 5k. Some user may thought he is unlucky to buy a high shutter count camera, but the camera may able to reach 1m actuation without problem. I don't think you should worry too much about the shutter count. ![]() ![]() So my question to you is, how many actuations on your A77 or what is the highest you know of? I read somewhere these shutters are reasonably reliable up to 150,000 actuations, so I'm unsure whether to return the camera while in the return window. ![]() Imagine my surprise when I checked the shutter count and the number of actuations is 140302!
